Service Description

CPI: Dementia Capable Care, 2nd Edition is an evidence-based learning experience combining the Claudia Allen Cognitive Disabilities Model and the Crisis Development Model to create a person-centered and abilities-focused approach to caring for persons with dementia. The ONLINE Experience The blended learning experience starts with your participants completing the online portion of the course, which introduces them to the basic concepts of Dementia Capable Care training. Requires 3-4 hours to complete. The BLENDED Experience In blended learning, your focus as a Certified Instructor shifts from delivery of knowledge to facilitating how to apply the knowledge to your unique environment. An Instructor Guide and Electronic Presentation specifically designed for blended delivery is provided in My Account. Training can be delivered virtually. Learners come to the training with a foundational knowledge (key terms and definitions) already in place. They will be prepared to discuss how they can apply the models and techniques learned, and they will practice these skills in the classroom or virtual setting. Requires 3.5 hours to complete. participants will qualify for Continuing Education by completing the online module training. Participants Receive Dementia Capable Care Specialist Credential When the blended training (online and classroom or virtual) is complete, you can will receive the Dementia Capable Care Specialist Credential.
